 Credit card insurance

⁃ Panama requires local coverage from a national company to ensure any claims are covered. There is no reciprocity with other countries as in Canada or the US. Your coverage may protect the amount of the deductible but our insurance cannot be declined. 

4×4 or pick-up trucks availability

⁃ We don’t stock 4x4s or pick-up trucks due to the added maintenance costs and the tendency for people to take them where they shouldn’t be going or put them through abuse/repairs that get passed on to the next renters. While we realize some of the local roads are steep or in very bad condition, we recommend you rent a vehicle with a larger, stronger engine to avoid problems. Our GS4s are strong, durable and top-of-the-line luxury vehicles that can handle these driving conditions. 

Reservation deposit

⁃ While our reservation system refers to our secure payment partner for payment in full, we also offer the option of cash or cryptocurrency payments as well with a discount. You can pass on the credit card payment in full by just closing the referral window and you should still receive your email confirmation. Our office staff will send a basic deposit invoice of $250 which will be applied to your security hold and returned to you after your departure inspection of the car. 

Cancellation policy

We aim to accommodate our customers as best as possible. We know that plans can change.

⁃ If your cancellation is up to 48 hrs before your arrival then we will reimburse 100% of your payment and there is no charge. 

⁃ If your cancellation is during your reservation period we will charge 1 day rental (including insurance rate) PLUS 1 day/week (or portion of a week) of cancellation to the maximum of 4 days total

Insurance options/coverage

⁃ 4 insurance options are available to choose from on the third page of the reservation system. The only difference between them is the amount of the deductible and the corresponding security deposit. These are the only options which have mandated full commercial coverage in Panamanian insurance. *This is often where fly-by-night companies will leave you exposed to legal and financial liability with private insurance that will not cover you in a car for hire. If the policy is not in the name of the rental company or you are given a “permission letter”, you are not covered. 

⁃ Out-of-country tourists will ONLY be required to make a security deposit of $250 which is returned to your credit card within one week of your vehicle departure inspection. 

Condition of cars

⁃ Most of our cars are brand new from the dealer. We have mostly SUVs due to the condition of local roads that drive maintenance and repair costs up on sedans. Our line of GAC vehicles is manufactured by Honda and we’ve had incredible feedback on these cars. All cars are maintained diligently and regularly so you won’t see the “Christmas tree dash” lit up like some of the low-cost rental companies. 

 7 passenger cars

⁃ We try to have a minimum of 3 vehicles capable of transporting up to 7 passengers or more luggage. For clients with a lot of luggage, we also have a contract driver who can accommodate more passengers and luggage as needed.  

 Additional costs?

⁃ There are no additional costs on your reservation provided you have entered all your needs (ie airport service). The price you pay is the price you see when you reserve. In case you have missed anything critical, we will review your reservation and notify you to be sure we are on the same page. We want to be sure there are no surprises upon arrival for either of us and ensure you have an apples-to-apples comparison. 

⁃ ONE-WAY DROP-OFF in Volcán or other parts of Chiriqui or Vice versa from Chiriqui is available upon request for an additional fee depending on staffing availability.
